SPEAKER:

Dr. Paul Abbott, is one of the most experienced Wolfram Research consultants, who has lectured on Mathematica in the U.S., Japan, and India and given several courses at Australian universities. These courses have been attended by professionals and students from a wide range of backgrounds, including people from government departments and financial institutions, scientists, engineers, academics, and medical researchers. Dr. Abbott is a computational physicist in the School of Physics at the University of Western Australia.  With a PhD in theoretical atomic physics from UWA in 1986,  Dr. Abbott, worked for Wolfram Research Inc. -- the makers of Mathematica -- from 1989-1992 as the Chief Technologist in the Applications Department. Dr. Abbott was the founding technical editor of The Mathematica Journal in 1990 and today he continues his involvement with the journal as a columnist. Dr. Abbott is widely known around the world for his work on applications of Computer Algebra System (CAS) such as Mathematica.
