The School of Mathematical Sciences
(Pusat Pengajian Sains Maktematik,
PPSM) was established in May 1974 in
USM. Currently the School has 43
strong of academic staffs with
various research interests. There
are over 700 undergraduate and
nearly 300 postgraduate students.
The School has seen a rapid
development and made many
significant advances pertaining to
academic programs, research and
development. Notably, the school has
been a strong & active user of
Mathematica since the earlier
versions. |
|
Coordinated by Dr. Yahya Abu
Hasan (BSc, MSc,PhD London)
from PPSM, and organized by
Mr. Mohamad Faisal Abd Karim
(B.Sc. Spec. Maths (Hull), M.Sc.
(East Anglia)) from PPPJJ (Pusat
Pengajian Pendidikan Jarak Jauh),
OPTIMAL Expert had helped conduct an
one-day Mathematica V6 &
webMathematica on 30 April
08 . The workshop attracted
a class full of lecturers,
researchers & post graduate students
primarily with the background of
physics & mathematics. |
|
Though a number of them had prior
experience using older versions of
Mathematica before, they were
impressed with the latest power of
this symbolic computation package,
as well as the deployment
flexibility of webMathematica.
Overwhelmed by many encouraging
feedbacks, OPTIMAL Expert opts to
arrange more hand-on sessions at USM
to switch on the full throttle of
Mathematica V6! |
